A Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement (MEWA) is an association
or group of five or more businesses that are in the same trade or
industry and organized under Chapter 70 of the Insurance Code. MEWA
member businesses provide support, services, or supplies primarily
to that trade or industry. The MEWA must be formed for a purpose
other than merely the sponsorship of an employee welfare benefit
plan.
You have the option to enter criteria for the Multiple Employer
Welfare Arrangement name if you wish. When you enter criteria for
the Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement, a search will be made
for all records that meet the criteria. If you do not enter criteria,
a search will be made for all records.
Example: The letters ma are entered as criteria for
the Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement. When the Submit button
is clicked, a search will be made for all Multiple Employer Welfare
Arrangements that contain the letters ma. This means
you will see results where the Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement
begins with ma or has the letters ma
somewhere within the Multiple Employer Welfare Arrangement name.
