Summary
of survey for providers
1. Most of the cable companies do not agree with and also do not provide
unbundled access to broadband services. Although half of the telephone companies
agree with unbundled access to broadband services, only one company
provides unbundled access. As for the telecommunications companies, most
of them support unbundled access but only a few of them provide it.
2. A majority of the
providers have had requests for broadband service that they couldn't meet.
3. Besides providing
cable modem, DSL (SDSL, ADSL), telephone modem, providers also offer:

6. Ameritech Michigan notes that upon the full completion of Project Pronto,
it is anticipated that approximately 80% of all SBC end users, across
its 13 state region, will have serving facilities that are DSL capable.
In this service territory, encompassing the same customer or potential
customer base, it is estimated WorldCom only offers broadband access to
less than 1% of these customers.

services to serve customers better and provide faster access to the Internet.
