Electric Choice 10% Cap Data

On October 6, 2008, the “Customer Choice and Electricity Reliability Act”, part of Public Act 286 was enacted. http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(pkj1o455flhrob55f0zzkp45))/mileg.aspx?page=getObject&objectName=2007-HB-5524.

On September 29, 2009, in case U-15801 the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) approved procedures dealing with the administration and allocation of electric load allowed to be served by alternative electric suppliers (AESs), under Public Act 286 of 2008. The procedures in their entirety are available in Appendix A of today's order: http://www.dleg.state.mi.us/mpsc/orders/electric/2009/u-15801etal_09-29-2009.pdf.

U-15801 requires utilities to make available on their Web sites an electric choice cap tracking system that allows customers to check on the status of the program. The link to the updated cap tracking data for Consumers Energy, DTE Electric Company, Indiana Michigan Power Company and Upper Peninsula Power Company can be found:
