LANSING, July 25. The Michigan Public Service Commission today granted MCN Oil & Gas
Company authority to construct and operate the Chestonia 31 Pipeline in Antrim County,
Michigan to serve the public convenience and necessity. The Commission stated that the
pipeline is practicable and will provide an economic means of delivering natural gas to market.

market by way of the existing gas transmission system. MCN applied for approval to construct
and operate the pipeline on May 23, 2001.
The pipeline will meet the requirements of the Michigan Gas Safety Code if constructed, tested,
and operated as proposed. MCN must file with the Commission, within 60 days after
construction, a completion report that includes pressure test data and a map of the Chestonia 31
pipeline as constructed.
MCN is headquarter in Traverse City, Michigan.
