LANSING, December 20. The Michigan Public Service Commission today
granted Omimex Energy, Inc. authority to construct and operate the Victory
1-21 Pipeline and the Victory 1-32 Pipeline, both in Mason County. The
Commission concluded that the pipelines will provide an economic means to
deliver natural gas to market. Omimex will use the pipelines to transport
currently shut-in sour gas from the Victory 1-21 Well and the Victory 1-32
Well to market by way of the existing natural gas transmission system.
Due to the nature of the sour gas produced by the two wells, Omimex has
established pipeline specifications that significantly exceed the Michigan
Gas Safety Standards. The pipelines will exceed the requirements of the
Safety Standards if constructed, tested and operated as proposed. Omimex
must file with the Commission, within 60 days after construction, a
completion report for each pipeline, including pressure test data and a
map of the pipeline as constructed.
Omimex is headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Consumer and Industry
Services.
